Shoulder Pads FAQ


In choosing a shoulder pad consider the following:

  • Shoulder pads come in two basic varieties foam and fabric covered.
  • Both foam and fabric covered pads come in styles which create either a rounded look or squared look on the shoulder
  • Foam shoulder pads are available in thicknesses of 3/8" to 3/4"and covered pads are available in thicknesses from 3/8" to 5/8".
  • In choosing the width of a shoulder pad keep in mind your frame size and the width of the neck openings of the garments you will be wearing them width. The smallest width shoulder pads would be the Micro Edge by Kathleen Kirkwood.

How do your shoulder pads stay in place?
The foam pads come with a foam flap in the bottom which you place under you bra strap to hold it in place. Additionally, the foam pads tend to stick to many types of fabric which also help keep them in place. The fabric covered pads all have a Velcro strip which also goes under your bra strap attaches back to the shoulder pad securing them in place.


Which shoulder pads will last the longest?
Fabric shoulder pads are more durable then foam shoulder pads. Of the foam shoulder pads the most durable are the Braza brand pads, but they are also the most dense tending not to give at all under your clothing.

Do you sell Stay Put brand shoulder pads?
We don't sell Stay Put brand, but the Lauren Silva brand shoulder pads are very similar to them.
